Green as a healing element of buildings and cities

This paper is focused on introducing urban greenery as an element of sustainable building and mainly as an element which contributes to pollution-free air and a better environment in the cities. Also, this Master’s thesis is focused on the relation between urban greenery and air pollution in Brno city. For six months, from June to November of 2019, carbon dioxide concentration, oxygen concentration and other secondary elements were measured in Brno city. The measurements took place at four locations which were then compared. Also, green measures were designed. The design consists of an extensive roof implementation on existing roofs at two selected locations in Brno city.

Využití satelitních snímků v environmentálním výzkumu pro identifikaci městských tepelných ostrovů a jejich souvislosti s okolním prostředím s případovou studií na území Prahy

Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí, na rešeršní část a případovou studii. Rešeršní část má za cíl uvést do problematiky městských tepelných ostrovů a shrnout poznatky o vztahu městských tepelných ostrovů s okolním prostředím. Popisuje, jak se chovají městské tepelné ostrovy v odlišných biomech a s různými typy zemském pokryvu. Druhá část práce se zabývá detekcí městského tepelného ostrova na území Prahy a jeho vztahu s vegetačními indexy ze satelitních dat Landsat 8. Cílem případové studie je najít vztah mezi teplotou zemského povrchu a její vliv na vegetaci. Studie dokazuje přímou korelaci mezi teplotou zemského povrchu, Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) a Normalized Difference Water Index (NDWI). V porovnání s venkovskými oblastmi byly uvnitř měst nalezeny nižší hodnoty NDWI pro stejné hodnoty NDVI mimo město.
